Lewis and Clark

This last Saturday Brett and I decided to soak up as MUCH of the beautiful springtime weather possible by being outside as long as possible. Our first task: starting the trek of the famous Lewis and Clark Trail. We were planning on hiking/jogging the 8.2 mile trek but with the wonderful weather mixed with the shade provided by the trail we ended up running the whole distance. (minus the stop to admire the Missouri river and my abrupt stop to gaze at the green snake that was blocking the trail). Our expected 3-4 hr hike/jog turned into 1:45 min run...After our run I looked up the actual trail of Lewis and Clark and decided that we could possibly make the whole trek on foot in approximately 2 weeks if we pushed it! So if any of our Oregonian friends happen to have two sweaty runners end up on their doorstep please have water ready!
Our inspiration:
Before the run...
After the run we laid out in the sun and read books for a while before we decided to go for a walk through Forest Park. Julia, this will do for a reception hall, right? This is the old pavilion used for back when the World's Fair came to St. Louis. I will start working on the arrangements.

St. Louis is beautiful! We're having a blast discovering new things about it as we spend more time here. Things to look forward to: Science Center, Zoo, more trails, and restaurants!
