Food...

I never blog about food, probably because I generally suck at making it, but Brett loved this meal enough to take a picture of it with his phone so I thought I'd show it off. I have noticed that I tend to make a lot of new things and forget which ones were good and which ones were crap. So from now on, if it it is good enough for Brett to take a picture of it, I will post it on our blog. Just to remind him that I can make a good meal...occasionally...
This was extremely easy. I am horrible when it comes to actually regurgitating recipes from memory because I never seem to fully follow the instructions but here's the general idea:
1. 1 lb flank steak
a. marinate in olive oil, garlic, italian seasoning, salt & pepper
b. broil 6-7 min/side
d. slice meat with the grain of the muscle.
c. done!
2. Get a box of couscous, add diced red peppers to it once it's mostly cooked and fluff together.
3. Get fresh vegetables (whatever you've got in the fridge...I had green beans, cherry tomatoes, and yellow squash available but I think adding onions would be amazing)
a. steam cook
b. note: I added the tomatoes at VERY end.
c. season with a little olive oil, lemon juice, S&P
DONE.
Result: 30 min tops in the kitchen + a happy (full) husband willing to do the dishes. What more could a gal ask for?

  1. Sounds awesome! I'm always looking for the quick and easy yet tasty and healthy. And yes I make a lot of experimental crap too so no worries :)
