Brett ran a 1/2 marathon in Nashville, TN!
My feelings: I hate being a spectator! I felt like a beached whale in the lawn chair while snacking on fruit chews waiting for Brett and our friend Matt Scott finish the race; however, it was still fun to be there at the finish line to cheer them home and give them some of my leftover treats :). Both Brett and Matt did well in the race, it sure fueled my fire to make me want to get back into shape after our little Zja Zja graces our presence. After the race we (I was extremely tired as well) went back to the timeshare the Scotts had booked, jumped in the pool, took naps, and then hit the town for some good ole' BBQ and country music. On Broadway Street we went to this awesome BBQ place called Jacks and then took advantage of some free tickets to Montgomery Gentry's concert. All in all, it was a fun little get away! Thanks Scotts for sticking to the plans and doing the race! We wouldn't have organized it enough to make it possible, that's for sure...Stephanie (Scott), we missed you terribly!

Updates on our little one: I'm HUGE! The 3rd trimester definitely brings on aches and pains I've never imagined possible. We are slowly but surely putting together some things for her arrival. For example, a couple weeks ago we did a little DIY project and repainted some dressers for her clothes to go into. (pictures will come later). We have a 72 hr kit all made up for her thanks to Oma and are starting to stock up on baby diapers and Butt paste.
It's crazy to think that I'm going to be done being pregnant very soon and I will have my own stomach back to myself! I'm sure I'm going to miss her tapping me throughout the day, her random hiccups that send me to the bathroom praying I didn't pee my pants, and her restless nights where she kicks so much my stomach looks like it's going through an earthquake... but I'll probably be more excited to see her and let Brett take a turn holding the little cherub :). It's fun to already feel like I know our sweet little girl, she has quite the personality already. I can tell Brett and I are going to have our hands full with her!
These are exciting/scary times! I will say it again, I'm not looking forward to the actual delivery part but am looking at the finish line and couldn't be more excited. I think I've figured out why God made the 3rd trimester SO uncomfortable....to make us willing to do ANYTHING to get the baby out! :)
Little baby Zja Zja Zobette, we love you and can't wait for you to finally come! (sooner rather than later please...)
I was chuckling while I read this whole post! Steph, if I know you, you'll be back running and doing races as soon as she's born! I miss running with you! Good luck with all that baby stuff! I can't wait to meet her!
