Last Wednesday started like any other day. Eleanor woke up happy and smiling.
Then she started to lose it...
Then she lost it...
Then something interesting happened, Eleanor's eye started to swell.
A few hours later her eye was much more swollen and she had a temperature of 103.5 F so Stephanie took her to the emergency room with Grandpa and Grandma Zobell.
Five hours, one IV, a few blood and urine samples, a few rounds of antibiotics, and four lumber punctures later, our little girl seemed to be doing much better.
She woke up the next morning a little groggy, but considering the circumstances we won't hold it against her.
As she improved she finally started taking her routine naps. Grandpa and Grandma Zobell bought her a stuffed sheep to keep her company.
The doctor told us Eleanor wouldn't have to do another urine sample with a catheter, but Eleanor did ask if she could do another lumbar puncture... we all had a good laugh.
We ended up leaving Friday afternoon and now Eleanor is getting some much deserved R&R at Opa's and Oma's. If you happen to see our little trooper be sure to give her a pat on the back, just not too hard as she still may remember the four giant needles entering and exiting the vicinity.
How scary! So what was the verdict? She certainly is cute, even when she looks so sad. I imagine that just killed you. Hope you are all hanging in there ok!
