It all started a couple days ago when I was sitting in my hotel living room and I heard females SCREAMING at the top of their lungs. I thought 1. someone had been murdered on the street (we DO live in a 3rd world country) 2. some natural disaster was coming (we have had a couple earthquakes already) or 3. Brett and I have been watching LOST online recently and I thought I was hallucinating and hearing the "others" sreaming. For whatever reason it was, I was alarmed to say the least.
I of course told Brett what I had heard and told him my speculations and after he had a good laugh at my expense he told me it was because two very famous Latino bands were staying at our hotels. I called my good friend Crystelle and she confirmed his claim, Aventura is a popular band!
It was great! The last couple of days every time we've left the hotel we've had swarms of little fans outside the hotel just waiting to get a glimpse of the HOT band members. I felt like a celebrity! To make the weekend even better, Brett told me we got some VIP passes to the show Saturday night and we got to go see what this band was all about with some of our friends in the hotel. We even got passes to go hang out with the band after the show (which ended around 1am)
Below: picture of me displaying our passes. Yes, Latin America is still cheap, it was a pink wristband with VIP written in pen. haha!
Our friend Riccardo had to take a couple shots at using the camera.

When we were heading back to the hotel where there was going to be an after party a little parasite that found its way into Brett's stomach started to hit him so we ended up rushing back to the room healing. I don't feel that bad for him since I've already been sick with two bugs since we've been down here so I feel like it's ok that he's gotten sick.

Some pictures of the venue. I seriously think there were around 30,000 people here. People were CRAMMED on top of each other in different zones tryin to get a glimpse of the group. I felt spoiled to be in the VIP area where we all were able to keep to our own personal space and not have hot sweaty fans all over us. It was nice to be so close.

The lights below show how far back the crowds go. It was HUGE! People were EVERYWHERE.

!Te amo Aventura!!

!Te amo Aventura!!
Feelings at the end of the show, my feet were pretty tired after standing from 8pm-1am. But I can't really complain, there were people who had stayed up all the night before and didn't get anything close to as nice of a view that we had.
ok i loved this post because i am a huge aventura fan! i went through a pretty big latin dancing stage and the bachata is by far my favorite. i am so jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteWell obviously we know salsa is superior in many ways...but there is NOTHING like a steamy bachata!!! And Aventura to say the least! I'm so jealous! Stephanie, I am living vicariously through your photos. Te quiero Aventura!!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like a blast! So I'm assuming you liked the music??
