Gary??

A lot of thought and consideration is put into naming our cars in the Jones family:
Helen the Honda,
Dino the Rav,
The Rolling Terd bus,
The stuck truck (said with willie's voice),
etc.
Brett and I, after a some bad ideas (mostly from Brett), (I) came up with the name Gary.

Brett's company gave us the car to use for the time that we are down here. Things I will no miss about taking taxis in Peru:
1. wondering whether or not my driver is drunk
2. praying that the car that is milimeters away from my car won't ram into my taxi because my taxi is pushing him off the road.
2a. praying that my taxi (run on natural gas)
will not explode when that car decides to ram
into the side us)
3. bartering for lower prices to get us places
4. driving in a car that has lice in the seat cushions

Things I'm looking forward to while driving down here:
1. left hand turns in the far right lane
2. road rage, Peru style
3. having the liberty to drive to Wong's grocery store whenever I want.

I had more pictures but can't seem to upload them...
Modeling the car in front of Sodimac, a store that's kind of like a cheap version of both Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond smushed together...

Happy temporary owners of little Gary celebrating at Pizza Hut. I wish I had taken a picture of the pizza...oh well...

  1. That's nice that they give you a car! I don't think I could handle lice-covered seats. Good luck driving down there...

You look gorgeous as always, steph!

  2. Ha, ha, Dr. Mack say's he's honored you named your car Gary. I got caught reading your blog in the lab. He also says quite complaining about your car and get a burro!
