I just received my new pair of Saucony shoes last night and I couldn't be more happy. I have had the same pair of running shoes, red saucony's, for the last two years and now stand amazed with the comfort of my new pair.
Running experts recommend that you change shoes every 500 miles, and that's the maximum number of miles you should run. That being said, my red pair of Sauconys must be the "dog" of its line. I have run 7 times that amount over the last two year, well, okay, more like 3 times the amount, but still way more than 500 miles. I'm either the exception to the rule, cheap, or rather unintelligent.
I guess that is why I was so amazed with the comfort of my new pair of shoes. I wore them for an hour or so last evening, threatened to wear them to bed (Steph didn't think my threats were very funny), and ran seven miles this morning through the winding, heavily cemented roads of Lima.
So far I have no complaints and have thought about buying an extra pair as a form of comfort. Then I remember the price tag, close to $100, and realize that I like running, but only enough to buy 1 pair of shoes every 1 to 2 years. I'd still like to think I'm the exception to the rule.

ReplyDelete1. Brett faced sleeping on the couch if he didn't take off the shoes. I have new 1000 thread count sheets (thanks mammy)and treasure them more than his shoes.
